Biography
J. Kamal Farza, S.H., M.H., is an experienced advocate and legal consultant who founded FARZA Law Firm in 1998, where he serves as Managing Partner. He has handled numerous strategic cases at the national level, building a strong reputation for his courage and commitment to justice through his work on human rights issues, crimes against children, and political cases. Among his significant roles, he served as legal counsel for Free Aceh Movement figure Ishak Daud in 1999 and was a member of the Aceh Case Defense Team (TPKA).
Beyond his primary legal practice, he is highly active in various non-governmental organizations and advocacy groups, including INFID, KontraS, VHR, and the National Executive Board of PERADI, demonstrating his dedication to social issues, democracy, and law enforcement. His expertise also encompasses good governance and good corporate governance (GCG), and following the Aceh earthquake and tsunami, he was entrusted to serve as the Director of Participatory Housing Development Initiatives at BRR NAD-Nias.
In addition to his legal career, he is an accomplished writer and poet who has been actively publishing articles, essays, and reports in national and international media since 1989. He has contributed to books such as “Aceh Jakarta Papua” and “Masyarakat Adat di Dunia,” and his poetry has been featured in several anthologies, including “Nafas Tanah Rencong” and “Kumpulan Surat Cinta”. Through his extensive experience and high integrity, he remains steadfastly committed to contributing to law enforcement, human rights protection, and good governance in Indonesia.
